Casa Bella lies in the heart of the old “land of wine”, representing the continuity between tradition and innovation. The estate, with its huge expanse of vineyards, runs from Piacenza to the Oltrepò region, which was an integral part of the estate until the early 1900s.
Still today, Cantine Casabella works constantly to support local winegrowers. And it looks to the future by experimenting and developing different stages of vinification and ageing.
The winegrowers and agronomists watch the vineyard constantly and with care: the annual vine growth and fruiting are monitored, preparing for the work of the winemaker who, at the time of harvest, selects the guidelines for the production of vintage wines.
The estate is located in Ziano Piacentino, in the heart of an area recognised worldwide as one of the best Italian wine lands. Here the Colli Piacentini, the Piacenza hills, run between the Tidone, Trebbia, Nure and Arda valleys, with hills with an altitude of between 100 and 500 metres. In addition to these, the middle reliefs have mostly marly, marly-pelitic and pelitic soil.
This special soil makes it suitable for the vinification of Gutturnio DOC and Gutturnio DOC Classico, the flagship productions of the DOC Colli Piacentini, which in 2010 was recognised as an autonomous DOC, as well as the Ortrugo DOC.
Constantly striving for sustainable productivity, we have adopted the technique of the “spurred cordon” system, focusing on quality productions as well as the health and longevity of the plant. The company mission is to make the dream of a vine that has a very careful approach to the grape and the spirit of the local area come true, respecting traditions and the expectations of the consumer.
